Modidima Mannya is an admitted Attorney of the High Court South Africa, based in Pretoria, South Africa. He served in various capacities in government including as Director-General for Education in the Eastern Cape and Director General for Agriculture and Environment in Kwa Zulu Natal. He previously served as a Special Advisor to both a Premier and a Minister.
He is also a writer and provides public commentary on various issues of national and international interest. He has written over 100 opinion pieces mainly published in the City Press Newspaper and has completed a manuscript of a book in honour of his grand aunt Charlotte Makgomo Mannya Maxeke, the first woman in South Africa to obtain a B. Sc degree and a leader of the anti-colonial and apartheid struggle in South Africa.
